i think they're rude because their job is stressful, they can't speak to most of their customers (who are probably not very nice, either), and new york is flippin' confusing and dirty. and also dangerous. also, i wouldn't be very happy if i played the lotto only to find out that all i won was a job i didn't want as a nyc cab driver.

Cabbies are rude because it's their God-given right. They've been murdered, robbed and beaten. They have to be careful and keep their guards up.
New York is the best city, and whoever doesn't like it, can go back to whatever town they are from. Don't down NYC if you don't live in it, and if you do, we don't care about your complaining.
