I honestly think snape is good and that he is one of the main characters so NO he should not die!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE SEVERUS SNAPE!!!!! (BTW .....I adore Alan Rickman he has the most amazing voice and not bad on the eyes either!)

Snape and Ron are the best characters in the Harry Potter series. Snape is great because he's so completely ridiculous -- he fits the fantasy genre perfectly. Ron is great because he is real and so painfully average, and he knows it.
If Rowling were to kill off either of them, she would be making a huge mistake. To kill Ron would suddenly make the entire series about him and his life of mediocrity until his demise. To kill Snape would be silly and misdirected. This is Harry's story. He has to die and take Voldemort with him. That's the ending of the story.

Depends. If he REALLY killed Dumbledore in the last book then I think he'll have to die by the end. I'm still not really convinced that he's a villian. I think theres gonna be some sort of twist at the end where Snape proves himself.

i think there would be good reasons for him both to die and to live. i personally think snape is either good, or at the very least not bad and just kinda working for himself to survive.
it would be great if snape died saving harry and proving that he wasn't working for voldemort and thus redeeming himself.
it would also be cool if he lived, slightly more reformed but still a bit of an asshole. perhaps his whole sordid past would be told and we would all understand him better and learn to tolerate him, even harry (and sirius, if he comes back).

I think that we will just have to wait and see to be sure, but I also believe that It will come as a huge shock just what Ms. Rowlings has in mind for snapes character!

No way! he only did what he was asked to do. He is a major character. In fact I think he is even more powerful than Voldemort. If he does die, it will be to save Harry. Severus is good, not bad and in the end you will see!

Well...he killed Dumbledore...so that deserves some punishment. But, some rumors are going around that Dumbledore isn't dead, so he might be a good guy. Either way, we all know that at least one character will die in the last book...I just hope it's not Harry...
