Yes what you require is possible - the rules behing Number Porting are
you may port your existing number (pay and go or contract)
as long as the original provider is different to the new provider
I.E - porting from T-mobile to O2
What you need to do is inform your current provider of your intention to cancel your contract and port your number - they will then issue you with code called a PAK code - theis will be a letter or on teh phone wwhich you provide to teh new provider and they will then together come up with a date to transfer your number and contract from the old provider to the new
Hope this helps

I believe you can convert it to a regular carrier if it is the same number. ie. t-mobile prepaid to tmobile contract. If it is a trackphone, then the only one that will let you port it in is helio i believe. That's what they told me but cell phone companies lie by nature so no telling what the truth is... I you can then convert it to a regular contract with anyone, you can port it out within three days and not pay activation fees or cancellation fees.
Good luck

Yes you can. You need a pac code from your service provider. If you are changing from payg to contract on the same network it will take a lot less time, otherwise it usually takes upto 7 days.

You can take a contract number to pay-as-you-go, but not the other way round. Once it is p.a.y.g that is it.
