The lollies have overloaded the sweet receptors in your taste buds, dimming the awareness of sweet in your tea.

Probably has something to do with the sugars already on your tongue glands. They're much more from your lollies than the tea so the they don't register as much from the tea. That's my guess. I'm a bartender, not a doctor.

System over load!
You should try having lollies with your tea!
Maybe twizzle the lollies in the tea for some extra flavoring!
Yummy!

the lollies are probably sweeter than the tea so that's why the tea doesn't taste as sweet to you

The lollies are so sweet that one sugar can't compare.
Consider this quote.
"Yeah, you're shining but the only thing you're leaving out.
You're a candle in the sun, that s*** don't even out!"

because you at them a few minutes ago and the tea is a new taste and so powerful that it will wash away the taste. also because the tea is hot your taste buds will react to it

Because you've overloaded the section of tastebuds with sweetness.. so when something is less sweet in comparison to what you consumed before hand, it won't hardly seem sweet at all. It's all psychology. I don't know the term for it because it's been years since my AP psych class, but its just sensory perception.
