Water Wisteria! Any plant will help oxygenate the tank though and keep fish healthy.

Is this for your convicts? Cichlids will tear up plants if they can get to them.

If you want to try it, get some low-light plants unless you have good lighting (4-5 watts per gallon). Java fern or Crypts maybe.

Put the plants near the back and get some 2-3" pieces of slate or aquarium rock (make sure it's suitable for use in an aquarium) and put this around the bases so the convicts will be less likely to dig around the bases. I'd try just a few at the beginning to make sure you cichlids will leave them alone.

I added a link below for these and other plants for the aquarium - shows lighting, pH, fast growing, etc. You can look up more about those that sound good to you.

definitely a lot of anachris they are thin single stem type plants but grow crazy fast and can be cut off when they get too high because they dont have roots and they will soon give your plant a luscious look Cryptocoryne parva is a foreground plant that does very well. Eleocharis acicularis is a stringy foreground plant. Eriocaulon cinereum is a bushey foreground plant Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a grassy foreground plant. there are many other plants to put in the midground such as banana plant which is very popular some pink and red plants are Alternanthera reineckii 'rosaefolia' and Ammannia gracilis. if you decide to get these plants it would be very beneficial to get a co2 system or a product called flourish to supplement your plants. also you need to have fluorescent lighting. overall plants are very helpful for control of algae and giving your fish a natural water supply such as they would have in nature.
