I am turning 16 soon. So it's a big birthday. I don't know what to ask for. One option is a trip to NYC to see a broadway play and shop. The only thing is my parents are paying for a trip to France for three weeks two months after my birthday. What should I ask for?

Let me just clear up the idea that I am a spoiled brat. I buy all my own clothes and school stuff. I am not a spoiled brat. This trip to France is not a gift because I am going to learn and attend school. It is a school trip, which is the one think my parents have told me they will pay for, School trips. They are only paying for the trip itself while I have to pay for everything else. You shouldn't call someone a spoiled brat before learning the facts.

i would ask for the trip to NYC...... i love new york and the shopping there and broadway plays (i have seen 2)....... or ask for a car i guess..........

ask then what they are financially equipped for because of the trip, just ball park, so you know what would be appropriot to ask for
