Your ascendant is your 1st house
The Ascendant, otherwise known as the Rising Sign, marks the beginning of the chart as it is the point of the ecliptic by sign and degree that was ascending or rising over the Eastern horizon at the time of birth.
It is the point of the intersection of the horizon and the ecliptic. It is the most important angle of the chart as it sets the chart by way of the other angles and the house cusps.
Whichever house system is used to calculate the birthchart, the ascendant will be the same. The Ascendant also forms the cusp of the first house. It represents the way we present ourselves to others and how they see us on first impressions.

My dear friend, ascendant means the first house itself. Thus when Sun is in the first house the Sunsign will be the same as the ascendant. The ascendant and the Sunsign will therefore contribute the same traits to the personality of the native whose astrological chart is under discussion resulting in these qualities getting integrated.

The Sun In The First House
The Sun (to integrate) in the House of Self
You tend to integrate in the area of self. You use the self to impress others. You are dramatic, and tend to lead (angular) and be the first. You may use your outward behaviour to conceal your real nature. Your natural action is to be direct, honest and straightforward and perhaps a little naive or innocent.

the ascendent has more rule over your personality, with the sun in it it does not mean you will act more like your ascendent it just adds more of a pride, and sense of self to your outward appearance.
