My answer seems really cheesy, so I apologize for that...bear with me, & I hope it helps!

The most immediate solution for me is to "take a deep breath." I know it's a cliche, but it physiologically works. Getting more oxygen to your brain cuts back the amount of carbon dioxide residing in your blood, which is what triggers the faster breathing and heart rate...and the angry decisions. Yoga's wonderful, but even just breathing like doctors want you to for an exam or like you're jumping off of a diving board is good for just keeping your cool.

In the past year, I've done one of the hardest things this formerly eternal angry pessimist has ever had to do. I've learned the meaning of three concepts: Faith, Hope, and Love. None of these concepts necessarily need to be religious, but I can't stress the importance of focusing on the good things in life. Everything has its pros & cons - such as the sun, which provides natural light but can also burn your skin - but if we all focused on the bad things, we would become creatures with no Faith, no Hope, and no Love. Despite the vile hatred that people can produce, I believe we are a generally decent and intelligent species, and surrounding myself with caring people truly does help.

If nothing else, start with the knowledge that there are people out here who understand your question & are willing to share what we feel about it. We may not be geniuses or paid professionals (Well, maybe some are!), but we're decent enough to try to help some, right? So, despite the vile hatred that has hurt you today - or any day - there's someone out here that would like for you to know that you're not alone in that pain. I'd also like you to know that even the most hopeless of situations can get better. Hang in there!

Are you spending too much time worrying about what other people are doing? What stabilizes you from all the kindhearted acts of goodness that happen in that same day? Pick one thing, look for it, you'll find it. After awhile it pretty much jumps out at you because you're motivated to see it. On the other hand, (4 fingers and a thumb) if you just concentrate on what you want to be and fill your time being that, you'll eliminate a lot(!!!) of unnecessary stress.

Somewhat, the meeting place is never peaceful with disputations that can be very annoying. Normally at the end of the discussions, I would close my eyes and ears. A few minutes each day is good for the mind and body returning to balance.

What stabilizes me? Going home and telling myself that tomorrow is a new day to start over...even though people won't change. There will still be those few people in my life that try to make life miserable for everyone.

Why do you ask such dark questions? Sounds like an unhealthy mind.

People who hate are irrelevant to me.

"Let those who love us, love us...
"For those that love us not, may the Lord turn their hearts...
"If their hearts will not be turned, may the Lord turn their ankles,
"That we may know them by their limping."
