Here are a few suggestions.
1) Dress smart casual - as if you were going out to dinner with your parents - not a suit as it is surfing. Have a peek in the shop and see how the staff are dressed then go up one level of smartness.
2) Learn a bit about the company and about surfing.
3) Be on time, confident and happy.
4) Answer all the questions they ask truthfully - at your age you don't need to know everything - just show a willingness to learn.
5) Have a couple of questions prepared to ask them about the job - not the salary!
Good luck

Even though it's a surf shop, don't show up in shorts and a tank top, even if that's how the employees dress. Always show up to an interview, at any job, dressed professionally. Don't use slang. Speak like an educated human being (even if that's not how you usually talk). There's no way to study for this, no questions to know the answers to. The more interviews you go to, the easier it will be. Don't stress out too much over it. You may not get this job, but just keep going to ineterviews and you will get one eventually. You'll be asked about your employment history, which at 16, won't be expected to be much. Most importantly, with any job, they'll be looking for someone responsable. Will you show up ON TIME and work your scheduled hours? Be honest. Don't say you're willing to work hours that you know you won't be able to keep (that interfere with school, sports, family commitments, etc.)

Okay first of all don't go looking like a surf bumb. What do the other people in the shop dress like? If they are wearing shorts then you can but, look nice put on the good ones that day. Also what products do they sell do you have any by that manufacturor? Rusty, O'Neil, Quicksilver ect...That shows you know the products and are interested in them. Be sure to be confident, and look your interviewer in the eye! Answer all questions and don't say I don't know if you have never been in that situtation tell them but then say this is how I would handle it if I was. No gum and speak clearly no slang like huh what and yeh. Be sure to ask questions if you surf ask something like, what does it take to give lessons. Also ask about pay and things like vactions or if you need off what kind of time line do they need. Also if you have any dates that are set in stone like you have concert tickets or the fam is going on vacation be sure to bring those dates and give them to them in advance. You and they do not want any surprises! Interviewers like it when you ask questions it means that you did your research before you applies. The most important thing is smile, be yourself and relax! I am sure that you will do well! You already did a big step by asking this question!
