Hey, I just started so I'm completely broke. I get 50% discount on all meals, but I can't purchase anything because I dont get my paycheck till next Monday. Can they take the bill out of my paycheck if I get something to eat while I work there? Otherwise, I'm there from 9a.m. to 5p. and I don't eat anything in that period of time.

Yes some places will let you take your meals out of your check. You will just need to ask.

i'm optimistic there are professionals and cons to the two, yet i might take retail over speedy nutrition. It all depends on what fast food restaurant you work for and what are the company policies, but some fast food company give their employees one 'on duty meals' during the shift and some discounts or coupons for the next meals an employee will have during the shift. I used to work with one fast food chains based in San Diego, California and they did that to all of their store employees not to mention the HQ's staff. But I think most of fast food chains in US give that because that's a benefit to their employees.

That happened to me too...we got 50% discount...I worked at Wendy's
When people didnt have money the managers usually gave them free food.....but only once in a great while...
you should talk to your manager the nice one though :)

I wouldn't do that! You never know what you may be racking up! Just because they sell your lunch at 50% off, doesn't mean you can't bring in your own bagged lunch. Bring your lunch as much as possible and it is probably cheaper than even your meal at 50% off.

Dude I'm a manager I'd let you eat.... Really all you gotta do is work and be cool and most of the time the cooks will "Make a Mistake" for you.

at a corporate owned fast food restaurant ..no. They don't care sadly, and unless you have a really sympathetic GM I am sorry to say your out of luck. Sorry.
