The atoms form covalent bonds in which the outer electrons are shared. Then hydrogen bond is formed between the molecules of hydrogen and oxygen.
Ionic bond invovles the transfer of electrons or a bond between widely electronegative atoms while covalent bond invovles the sharing of the electrons or is a bond formed between closely electronegative atoms
