According to Tom and Ray Magliozzi (a.k.a., Click & Clack of Car Talk fame), a general rule of thumb would be to change your oil and filter every 5,000 miles. They do, however, recognize that this will be too soon for many people, and a bit late for a few.
i took this from the web. its a good rule of thumb. it really depends on where u drive. dirty dusty environment, lots of stop and go like rush hour will cause u to need to change sooner. for most of us, 5 k is fine.
check your owners manual for other items like antifreeze and other fluids. they are important too. happy motoring

People often change the oil every 3000 miles or 3 months, which ever comes first. That is how their Dad did it and their Granddad before them. When you are talking about old Model Ts that was necessary because the engines were not that well built.
Today the engines are extremely well made and many car manufacturers say to change the oil every 10,000 miles. If you drive where it is usually dusty, such as down dirt farm roads, you will want to change the oil (and filter) more often than the manufacturer recommends.
I split the difference between what old Granddad did and what the car makers say, and do it every 5000 miles. I do not worry about how long it has been as that oil has sat around in the ground for millions of years and sitting in the car for a while is not going to hurt it. Oil does not simply "break down" sitting around. (You do have to watch out if you only drive a few miles each time you use the car, then you can get water condensation in the oil. Best to make sure the engine warms up properly when you run the car.)

Im not following for sure if your using miles or kilometers so I'm doing this in miles, being an American thats all I know anyway, lol. If its a new car and you have 3,000 miles its time for an oil change. You can check your owners manual and see what the manufacturer recommends for intervals, some will say you can go up to 7500 miles on a change. Thats a bit too much for me, if you drive only highway miles then 5,000 a change is alright, if its mixed highway and city driving then 3,000 is a better deal. Its actually cheap insurance and regular oil changes will lead to longer life for your engine.

You can assume a change every 3000 miles (5000 km.) Manufacturers will usually list the oil change interval as much longer, but I figure its cheap insurance...

You should change the oil in your car every 3,000 miles (what's that around 2500k) or every 3 mths, whichever is shortest.
Changing your oil regularly is the one maintenance item that is most important to your car's performance.
