After a 10-year search for the origin of HIV, scientists say they have finally traced the initial source of the global pandemic presently affecting more than 40-million people worldwide.

Researchers believe that back in the 1930's two colonies of chimpanzees in the south-east Cameroon is where the virus first jumped species from chimpanzees to humans, way before HIV began its devastating spread among people.

It’s supposed to be Chimpanzee catchers who got it first, they were bitten by the infected animals.

No, it did not come from shagging monkeys, but it did come form monkeys. What happened was, people in Africa (not being racist) ate monkeys, and they got the monkey blood into their own bloodstream through open cuts, most likely on their hands. Some of the monkey blood was infected with a primate form of AIDS, which morphed into AIDS, and that is where it came from.

The Virus originated in monkeys, humans in 3rd world countries then ate the meat from said monkeys and contracted the AIDS virus, and so began the epidemic.Spread via blood/sexual contact.

No, not from shagging them. I do remember that there is a story that AIDS may have been been passed to humans through Polio vaccine.

That seems to have been disproven now.

Assuredly not. We know this because the kind of virus that they carry is much younger than the version that we get. There are several good microbiologists who have studied this, though I am not at work, and don't remember who. It is possible that we gave it to them, but I doubt it.

it could be, aids appears as a skin rash on some african breeds of monkeys. rumour is that is how the whole thing started.

IMHO, I don't know if it came that way or not, although I have heard this. I think the important thing is that AIDS is here, and teaching people, helping people and finding a cure.

Most likely it was from shagging them - although the "experts" maintain it was from a bite.

Are you asking if aids came from monkeys willfully having intercourse with humans ?
Please enlighten, I'm a little dense this morning.
