I see questions on here like "Whats your favorite flavor ice cream?" or "How do I fix my computer?" with any details. Why do people ask such vauge and uninteresting questions?
And another thing, why do people ask questions a google search could tell them ten times faster? Its mind boggling!

Well if the question was what is your favorite flavor ice cream I'd have to say they are bored and just looking to see what answers they will get. For other things like how do I fix my computer this is probably the easiest way to get fast responses even if they aren't necessarily the right answer.
Lastly, if they ask a question instead of googling it first well I'd have to say that one is just being lazy!
For instance, your question isn't really interesting or anything yet over 20 of us have responded and it was only put up 10 minutes ago. I guess we're bored or something!
So there ya go!

Several reasons. Your examples are perfectly reasonable questions for a 13 year old to ask.

As for Y!A vs Google, its more fun to get a variety of answers from real people. Interacting with other people to ask and answer questions is a heck of a lot more entertaining than researching on Google. Besides Google can never come up with the same clever answers as Y!A folks do - to such questions as "Why do people ask dumb questions?"

Some people just want to join the party....to be involved....to participate. Some are just killing time and yet others really want an answer to their question and haven't thought of going to the net for an answer. Be a little more kind and patient. The rewards are great. And I don't mean the points. Have you NEVER asked someone a silly question? I certainly have.

There are no stupid questions! You never know what interests other people, or what they may or may not know. Honestly, if it's so idiotic, how hard is it to just skip over it. What blows me away is how many people go on others' questions and just insult them when all they're looking for is an honest answer. Why??

I think some get a thrill about seeing some dumb question they have thought up in Q&A and that someone is taking the time to answer them.

Others love to BAIT; they know the answer they want, they want to stir up trouble....fun.

BUT, I'm not sure what category you fall in, you seem intelligent enough to have figured that out. Peace.

Some of them may still be stuck in A.O.L.land. That's a big
handicap. Start to search and it shuts down, or " you have
performed an illegal operation"

Yeah. I asked this already. And people answered. Just like I'm doing. It's a vicious circle. Stupid people will ask stupid questions and more stupid people will answer with stupid responses.

I love the world. Long live stupidity!

as humans we need to feel connected to other people, so thats why some people ask stupid questions. Another reason is that alot of people are just bored.

people who tend to ask such question only want ot get attention from you, tey don't actually want ot ask , but they know that if they'll ask such certainly your attention would be diverted to that.
