Without more information, I would have to guess the hard drive. If the virtual cache is being used, it's quite possible the hard drive would affect the audio when playing a file. Kicking your PC is definitely not a wise workaround for a hardware problem.

Check the screws on the motherboard. Some times they loosen up so you don't get a good ground. Verify that all fans are working. You might add another case fan or blower. Heat will cause a computer to freeze up too. You might try running the computer with the side panel removed and a table fan blowing on the motherboard. If it doesn't freeze up then heat is your culprit.

I have never heard of being able to unfreeze a computer by kicking the case. It's not a jukebox. I can only suggest you make sure everything is hooked up firmly, scan for viruses and spyware, and as a last resort reinstall windows.

Games such as Battlefield take a lot of RAM memory. If you have a weak computer, that's possible, but I don't understand that when you kick it, it works... Hey I just got an idea you can make a commercial "Learn Karate with This Computer"

Open up the case and make sure that your ram is all pushed in. It might be loosing connection but when you tilt the coomputer it may be making connection again what do you think?????

Hope this helps in some way?

Well, you shouldn't be kicking the case in the first place. It looks like the hard drive may be stalling or sputtering out.

The HD might get damaged if it gets whacked enough so be careful. Check your memory and make sure you have enough. You should have 1 gig min with XP and probably 2G with Vista.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
