Had one doing the same thing, only difference it was a full size truck.I changed the PC solenoid did`t help, the problem turned out to be the after-market reman computer, replaced it with a GM reman, problem solved.

i own a repair shop, and i think you might have a stretched out throttle cable on it for the transmission, this one is controlled by throttle pressure on it,i had a 92 in the shop that did this, and it too has the same tranny, changed cables and after a half a day of adjusting on it,i finally got it to shift right,i got a suburban now that will bark the tires when it changes from 1-2 ,and for no reason at all,and the owner wants it changed if i cant get it out of it,i think his is in the valve body, all i can tell you to do is go back over everything you have done and triple check it,i been at this for 36 yrs,and i still make mistakes,we all do,sometimes its the small things that stump us the most, good luck i hope this helps.

CONV., OR FUEL PRESSURE, FILTER, OR EVEN THE TIMING, AND CHECK UNDER THE DIST. CAP FOR A BUNCH OF WHITE OR GREY POWDERY CRAP, IF THERE IS, CHANGE THE PICK-UP COIL, SOUNDS LIKE MORE OF AN ENGINE PROBLEM THAN A TRANS
