I thought I was the only one that thought it was stupid. Im not trying to judge anybody but I just think its stupid. First of all not a lot of people have range rovers and s class and stuff like that so thats already going to attract attention and then putting rims on it is just overdoing it in my words.

Because chances are if you spend $50K or more on a car, you probably have the money and the initiative to make the car the way you want to. If I had an S class I would most definately change the rims. Compared to the cost of the car it is a reasonably cheap way to customize the look compared to the slew of other S500's on the street.

Personal touch. I would put rims on a Escalade or any other luxury car if I had the money. Makes the car look different from all the stock ones.

I cant stand when you have a $500 car and have expensive rims that amount to more than the cost of the car.

wow... glad that you got that off your chest.
that said, my moms (who is well into her 60's) just went out and bought a new e-class last month. the first thing she did afterwards was to start shopping for 20's to put on it. the stock rims were too "mundane" in her words.
to each his (or her) own, bruh! when you buy your next benz or rover, be a sheep and leave it stock like everyone else's. see how much WE care about it...

Well.. You're absolutely right and I agree.
I think it's up to them though. Some people take pride in their cars and like to strut their stuff sometimes.
Personally I wouldn't do that myself (because I'm not 20 yrs old anymore) but I respect their decision to do so if they can afford it and like it.
It's when they start driving like a**holes that I take offense. And it happens!
Good Luck!

they buy the base model and make it look like the hooked up model because of insurance... it would be wayyy cheaper to buy a base model and make it look better... insurance purposes and the inital cost would be higher (for the hooked up model)

Hey, it's their car and it is still a free country; why judge what other people do..it's much better to judge what you do? If you don't like it, don't look..

Well, I guess if they can afford the vehicle in the first place, it is their right to do with it what they will.
