They would induce you and have you deliver it you can't leave it inside of you it will cause a serious infection. Now in my cousins case she had a baby that was going to die as soon as it was born there was no way to save it but they couldn't abort it because she was to far along they induced her at 24 weeks (as early as they can).

I can tell you what happened to me. My son stopped moving 3 wks before our due date. I went to the hospital and the Dr confirmed he was dead. I was given the choice to be induced that day or go home and let nature take it's course. I chose to be induced and that night I gave birth to a perfect baby boy except he wasn't breathing.
Your body knows when the baby has died and labor starts on its own with in a few days to weeks.

A girl at my high school was a senior and expecting. She made it up until about a week before her due date. One day she woke up and didn't feel the baby moving. Long story, short. The baby died due to the umblical cord wrapping around its neck. She still had to deliver the child as anyone else would. Sad :(

No it doesnt work like that, usually you will know when the baby stops moving and through your monthly check ups and then the baby has to be either delivered or taken out thru a c-section, you cant have a dead baby inside you until your term is up it will poison you ...

usually the doctors will induce labor if they realise the child is dead...but if they don't know, which they should, but anyway if they don't know, you don't necessarily have to carry it to 9 mos...you can miscarry anytime
