You want to know?““Don’t take the girl”
By
Tim McGraw

Johnny’s daddy was taking him fishing
When he was eight years old
Little girl came through the front gate
Holding a fishing pole
His dad looked down and smiled
Said “We can’t leave her behind”
“Son, I know you don’t want her to go, but one day you’ll change you’re mind”
And Johnny said,
“Take Jimmy Johnson
Take Tommy Thompson
Take my best friend Bo
Take anybody that you want, as long as she don’t go
Take any boy in the world,
Daddy, Pleeease don’t take the girl

Same old boy, same sweet girl
Ten years down the road
He held tight and kissed her lips in front of picture show
Stranger came and pulled a gun, grabbed her by the arm
Said if you do what I tell you to, there won’t be any harm
And Johnny said,
Take my money,
Take my wallet
Take my credit card
Here’s a watch that my grandpa gave me,
Here’s the key to my car
Mister, give it a whirl
But
Pleeease don’t take the girl

Same old boy, same sweet girl
Five years down the road
There’s gonna be a little one and
She says time to go
Doctor says the baby’s fine
But you’ll have to leave
Cuz’ his mama fading past
And Johnny hit his knees and there he prayed
Take the very breath you gave me,
Take this heart from my chest,
I’ll gladly take her place if you’ll let me,
Make this my last request
Take me out of this world,
God Pleeease,
Don’t take the girl

Such a true but sad song, it makes me wont to thank god every time I here it. I almost lost my little girl after she gave birth to her second daughter. She started hemridging and had to be given 128 pints of blood. A few month later after her operation, we almost lost her the second time. She himridged internally, had a blood clot the size of bashetball. So there is no one that can say I don't have something to be thankfull for. .

Yeppers... song still makes me cry and hold my wife tight.

My lil boy (4) grimaces, 'cause girls have "cooties".
