I am a new mac user, just got my Mac G3 laptop on ebay. I love it, except that when i am on the internet, and i type something into the search bar on yahoo or google, it keeps whatever i typed in stored. even after i clear the internet browsing history, if i go back to the search engine and type in a letter, it shows a dropdown menu of everything that i have ever typed in starting with that letter.
So my question is how do i disable this feature? It is anoying, but i don't know anything about macs or how to change that setting. I am running OSX 10.3.9.
Thank you!

Turn off AutoFill in your Safari preferences.

Private browsing would be a great tip, except it does not exist in your version of Safari, as it was introduced in 10.4.
