When I first start my car in the morning, it starts fine, but while I am waiting for the car to "warm up" the engine starts to die out while I am just idling, not driving. I have to keep giving it gas so that the engine does not fully die out. If I don't give it gas it completely dies out and I have to start the car again. Once I take off, the car is fine and doesn't die out at lights or anything like that. What could be the cause of this and/or what repairs need to be made to fix my problem?

Assuming your car is stock- many SRT-4s are not - it sounds as if you are saying that once the engine reaches operating temperature the problem goes away. If this true, my experience is that there is a problem with the coolant temperature sensor or the PCM (powertrain control module). Any sensor or condition which changes signals once the engine warms up could be causing this problem. Trying to reset the PCM is worth a try. With the symptoms you describe, it would seem that you certainly should have a lit engine light. If you do, or even if you do not, have someone read the PCM for trouble codes. Be advised that the factory warranty on the '05 SRT-4 powertrain is only 3 years/36,000. miles

Hmmm.. This sounds like disconnecting and reconnecting the negative battery terminal might help.. That resets the car's computer. I would try that. Then I might try some gasline antifreeze.. If there is a check engine light on then don't do anything.. Take it to a garage and let them do an OBD test and pinpoint the problem.. Only a 2005..Do you still have warranty?

try resetting the ecu. also do you have an aftermarket BOV on the car? if you do that could be the cause of your problem. your car has a MAF sensor and if you put an aftermarlet VTA BOV if screws your idle because the computer doesnt take into account the missing air from your intake.

the cost difference for top rate over universal unleaded is commonly approximately $.20 greater according to gallon (maximum aspects). That equates to in basic terms $2.50 according to tank for the 12.5 gallon tank in case you ran it thoroughly dry. maximum ingredients or boosters value a minimum of $5.00, the greater effective ones are greater, some get around $10.00, or perhaps the main inexpensive ones commonly approximately $3 or $4. that to boot to the actuality that maximum octane boosters do no longer artwork as good as they lead you to have faith.
