Hey, this is simple algebra and really easy to understand when you get the hang of it, Ill try to explain it as well as I can.

Ok. You want to first FIND the pairs for the equation. The best bet is to always start with the number 1 for one of your variables (x,y,z, etc). Ok now that we have that we can go like this : 1 + ? = 6. Now you would have x = 1, y = 5 (because 1 + 5 = 6). That is one ordered pair. Now change your X to, lets say 2. Now you just want to find what Y is. When it comes to equations both sides will be the SAME, so that is your goal here. Once you got the ordered pairs and are ready to graph it you can set it up like this: Draw a vertical line, up. At the bottom of that line draw one going to the right, horizontally. Now, where the lines meet, call that Zero for both lines. We can name the horizontal line X and the vertical line Y. Now you put a bunch of tick marks on those lines (probably just up to 6 of them), and number each one starting at the Zero point, zero to 6. From here you take your ordered pairs. Lets take the pair 1(x),5(y)...you would go over on the horizontal line (X), 1, and then go up 5 on the vertical line (Y). Once youve done this, just draw a line to connect the dots (my most favourite part :) ) and youre all done.

Hope this helps you with your work.

Table of solutions are just points in the line of the graph.

x | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4|
y | 5 | 4| 3 | 2|

y= -x+6 is the y-intercept form of the line.

If this is confusing, think of it this way:

On the x side put, say, 2.
On the y side put 4 because 2+4=6.

ok, i hope u know how to graph already because this is not hard at all. first, rewrite the equation so it equals y......y = 6 - x
now on ur table, make 2 columns, one for x and one for y. for ur x column, just write 0 - 5. then u plug in the x-values into the equation to get ur y values. then u plot ur points (x,y)
x I y
0 6
1 5
2 4
3 3
4 2
5 1
that's what ur table looks like

First make your table of solutions. Use -1,0,1 that gives you a negative value, a positive value, and a zero value. Plug these values of x into the equation to get the y value. These give you the coordinates of a point on the line. (-1,7),(0,6),(1,5). Remember the x value is always first. Now graph them on the coordinate grid. Connect them with a straight line and don't forget the arrows at the ends of the lines......

just subtract x from both sides, gettin y=-x+6. Then make a table and graph.

solve for Y... so y=6-x then make a graph
X | Y

1 5
2 4
3 3

ect ect. Then graph.
