You should purchase an extender to put on the end of the cable. It is very cheap and u can buy it from any elec. shop.

The best ISP is BSNL(cheap and best) and it gives high bandwidth at low rates.

Please rank my answer as best.

I think the previous answer meant to say an inexpensive rather than expensive adaptor. I have an HP laptop I bought in the US and now am working in Thailand, you won't have to do anything! Just be sure your charger-ac adaptor says 100V-240v ,50-60hz input, which almost all do, and get the adaptor that converts the flat blade plug to the pin-type plugs in India and you're ready to go. Can't help you with the ISP, I'm sure you can find information on the web or ask others when you get there. Good luck!

Notebooks are meant to be taken with you wherever you go. Most of the power adaptors work well in India. At the most you may need an expensive attachment to put on the power plug to make it usable in Indian power socket. The network cards, modem and NIC sockets are all the same. No problem at all.

In order to get a wireless net connection you could get a data card - provided by reliance or airtel...
The other stuff wld be same - the adapter uv got wld be compatible in india, except for the pins on the plug - you can get a normal multipin in india to overcome that issue...
