How would you go about getting scouted to play in the AFL? Is it anything like the NFL? When you get out of college can you go to an open try-out or anything like that? I have no clue as to how any of that works and i am very interested... thanks for the help!

You can go about this in a few ways. 1) If you are in college playing football most have a "Pro Day" where scouts look at the juniors and seniors at the school. 2) Ok so you didn't get enough playing time in college then you would want to play semi-pro football for a bit to get expericence then contact the organazation to see if they have a open tryout. 3) There is a site www.combines.com where you can sign up and go to the combines, scouts from all leagues will look at you and hopfully you will get a good look at.

The same pro write-ups for scouts are read by the AFL. I'd contact the nearest team and ask for a workout.

You do not need to be scouted to be noticed by AFL, each team holds open tryouts every year. Schedules are posted on their website under the "players" section.

A LOT like the NFL.

You go to a team, request to be scouted, they will watch you for a couple weeks. Workouts, position drills, other combine drills.
Then, if you're good enough, you get signed. Then you need to get an agent, etc etc.

Make sure your in top condition and ready to get your butt beat when you go.

Have fun and good luck.
