I currently wear glasses, which I HATE, and I'm thinking about getting contact lenses. The only thing is, I'm extremely paranoid about touching my eyes... it's just weird-feeling... if I switch, how could I get used to them? Can someone give me some info?

Thanks!

Modern soft lenses have essentially no feeling on the eye. The way you know they are there is because you can see ok.
Go to a good eye doctor with lots of fitting experience.

I wear glasses too and a couple of years ago, I gave contacts a try. It is a little weird at first to touch your eyes with a contact lens but it's not that bad. Tilt your head back when you starting to apply the lens and it should be a little easier.

Don't get discouraged if you can't get your contacts in immediately. I remember sitting in the office for about an hour trying to get one contact on my eye. It takes practice.

When you get them in, you'll have to blink a couple of times so that the contact will set in the right place. When it's time to take them out, just slightly pinch the contact in the middle (which is what I did). Just be careful and be patient. Good luck!

When you switch to contact lenses it can feel prity weird on you eyes. It can feel like a plunger sucking on your eyes at first. To get use to them you can try to only where them for say 3 hours with them in your eyes the fist time you try them, then increase the time till you are comfortable with them and can where them for the whole day everyday. If contacts are to strange for you, you can try glasses that look frame less. If you have not already tried them. It was hard for me 2.

good luck =)

I recently switched from glasses to contacts, and there's not much I can tell you to help. I just takes practice. Each day it gets a little easier, until you forget you're even wearing them.
You should definitely go for it, you'll love not having to have frames on your face, and being able to see well all around, rather than just in front of the frames.

It's true that it's hard to put them in at first, but you'll get used to them. I started wearing contact lenses about 15 years ago and I love wearing them. I'll most likely wear them for years to come. Your eye doctor or someone in his/her office can show you how to put them in. Then just do it. Your eyes will get used to them more quickly if you actually wear them.

The only way to get used to it is with time and practice. When I first got them, it took forever to get the darn thing in my eye, now it's just second nature.

as a contact wearer.. i had the same issues.. when you first put then in it'll be a little hard.. but its not as bad as people may think it is.. the doctor with teach you how to do it correctly and safely.. so you don't have anything to worry about..

go for it.. they're worth it. over time it'll jsut keep getting easier.

I would say that the more you wore them and pacticed putting them in/taking them out, the more comfterable you would feel. Also, maybe talk to your optometrist?
