i've heard of it before and i think it has something to do with school... but is there like something that goes after it or something? it sounds interesting... i'm in australia... so i don't know about this stuff... sounds interesting... is it just like an american thing? :)

In USA it's another way of saying a person is in the 9th grade. We say:

Freshman (9th grader)
Sophomore (10th grader)
Junior (11th grader)
Senior (12th grader)

We also say it for college but mostly for high school students

i live in america. freshman is the first year of high school. also known as 9th grade. I think it's called freshman cuz ur like fresh and new to the school. after that is sophmore, junoir then senior. those are also names for the grade level

It means your first year (in high school and college)

First your a freshmen, then a sophomore, then a junior, then a senior

It also means your fresh meat to the upperclassmen ;)

And I didnt know it was only an american
