yes he is

1. he is a better all around player then carmelo

2. Texas has a very good chance of winning a nc just like cuse

3. People forget that syracuse was a more experienced team

1 senior
2 sophmores
2 fresmen

look at texas starting line up

1 sophmore
4 fresmen

4. Texas lost it's best 7 players from last years team yet there are a number 4 seed (best 4 by far, best chance to make it to the final 4 then anyother 4) in the tourney

So I would say that Durant is having a better season than carmelo

1. Kevin Durant does NOT have the same caliber players around him that Carmelo had. Carmelo had Hakeem Warrick and Joey Magnamare (can't spell).

who does kevin durant have? DJ austin? who can't shoot?

so dont compare teams (to above poster).

Kevin durant has something Carmelo doesn't have, a 3 point shot in college. But going into the NBA Durant may not be as ready cause he's so thin. if he put on about 20-30 pounds of muscle he'll be a beast.

So much of winning a championship is based on a team as a whole rather than just one player. Syracuse had a better team around 'Melo, so I don't really think Durant needs to lead Texas to a championship to be considered as good or better than Carmelo.

I think we are all pretty lucky to have been able to watch Carmelo in college, and now are able to watch Durant. I have to defer to the coaches I've seen interviewed, who have been around and seen great players for lots of years. Most claimed that Durant is the best Freshman since Larry Bird. (They all, by the way, made a point to bring up Jordan and say that he was great, but not as far along as Durant is in terms of his skills being refined as a freshman).

I've been intently watching college basketball for 20 years, and I can't say I disagree with this. This guy is special.

Do you mean on-court ability or overall character?

If on-court ability is all we're worried about, I haven't seen Durant enough to make an accurate judgment.

If we're talking about overall character, Durant has Anthony beat by light years, and the sad thing is Anthony's character as a freshman was better than it is today.

Who cares, I don't like either of them, so comparing them would be pointless.
