There are so many I would like to change because a character I like dies at the end. Its not that I disagree with the character dying, its just that I am sappy and dont like to be sad, lol.

Examples: Tom Hanks' character in Saving Private Ryan, Jet Li's character in Hero, Chow Yun Fat's character in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Sean Connery's character in Untouchables, Keifer Southerland's character in Young Guns II, and Jean Reno's character in The Professional, just to name a few.

What about you?

New movies have not knocked any element from my suitable ten. My suitable ten alterations each now and returned yet via older movies that I certainly have only watched. I do like present day movies, yet they hasn't been any for a at the same time as that I easily fell in love with. except there is one I missed, my suitable ten is exceedingly old, yet there's a pair from the early 2000s in it:) My suitable Ten 10- American splendor 9- Rashomon 8- Wickerman (70s) 7- The Stepford different halves 6- Cinema Paradiso 5- the great Dictator 4- Kill bill 3- The Wizard Of oz..2- Godfather a million- Thelma And Louise

Star Wars series. Darth Vader would still be running things.

Lord of the Rings. Gandalf the Gray could have ended the movie by flying the ring on one of the eagles and dropping the ring in the Volcano.

Rocky. Need I say more.

E.T. Should have ended with an alien invasion.

Bourne Supremacy. So so sad, his beau died before the movie started.

Ghost, Patrick Swayze. Oh I guess we wouldn't have had a movie.

I could go on and on however since it's entertainment I guess they get to pick how they believe we are most entertained.

The Matrix Part 3. Sorry it was so horrible I don't remember the full name. Instead of the original ending I would have ended it with the Wachowski Brothers being pushed into the giant lava pits in the dance rave scene while choking on the money Warner Bros paid them to force out two movies and effectivly destroying what could have been the next big thing in Sci-fi.

I think The Professional is a great example of an ending I would change, it was good but not great.

I would probably also like to see the endings of The Descent and Cold Mountain changed because I would like to see all of the characters' work in these movies pay off in some way.

I love LOTR: Return of the King, but did it really need four seperate endings?

Since I kind of like sad or tragic endings (makes you remember the film even more) I'd change disappointing endings. One would be Contact. It had a good build up but the special effects and the scene where she meets her 'father' or alien looking like her Dad was terrible. Felt let down with that. Another would be the recent end to the Star Wars saga. Man, leave well enough alone! His explanation on why Luke and Leia are split up and who they're given to is ridiculous. Sigh.

I would change the ending to Road to Perdition so the boy could grow up with his father. I would change The Green Mile so that all those people who wanted Jon Cofee dead would know that he was innocent and he would live some how even though he wanted to die. He was so cool and ice. He didn't deserve to die. The ending of 12 Monkeys sucked too. The guy and the girl should end up together so they could be happy. That's just a few. I could go on and on.

There a a million movies I would love to change the ending to, esp. to keep a character alive. I mean, who wouldn't want to keep Tom Hanks alive, in any move. But, the one movie that I would pick to change is 'Pretty in Pink'. Andie (Molly Ringwald) would end up dating Duckie (Jon Cryer) instead of dating Blane (Andrew McCarthy). Andie ending up with Blane is one of the worst endings in movie history. She basically chose style over substance. Blane dissed, humiliated, and lied to her. Duckie loved her more than anyone and would have made her a good husband. He love her so much, he let her go with Blane because it was what she wanted. Blane had the money and the looks, but he was a piece of sh**.

I've always felt this way, but even moreso since I found out this was the original ending. John Hughes, the director, ordered a re-shoot claiming test audiences didn't like the original ending. I wish I had been in that test audience, Andie would've ended up happily married to a man who loves her. Instead she ended up with Blane who probably made her sign a prenup, change here image, push out a couple of heirs and then cheated on her. Poor, poor Andie!

The Life of David Gale, Dead Man Walking, and Man on Fire. They all should live, but since the latter two are based on true life events, I guess that is infeasible.

Vanilla Sky had a dumb ending. Tom Cruise was a popsicle the whole movie? Come on now...
