I got to work this morning and let the car sit. then after work I put some fluid in the radiator. this fixed the overheating problem, but the engine now has a hard time working as if some spark plugs are blown out. I realized that I must have drove to work 30 minutes on the freeway with no fluid in the radiator this morning.

what should I do now?

before I get it into a shop to put a band-aid on things for a bit.

I can still drive the car. the engine wasn’t over heated to the extreme that all you are saying. It just shimmys a little at idle. But it drives ok.

You've probably overheated the engine and cracked the block. A bandaid could be something called Engine Sealer or Block seal. It's a Liquid with specs of copper in it to seal the block and radiator. That may not even work either... More than likely you'll need a new engine

Spark plugs blown out?? That's funny. I think it's safe to say you either killed that engine or caused some serious damage. Stop driving it before you make it any worse. Have a mechanic look at,you might not like what they tell you.

You have most probably damaged the engine. Get it to the shop as soon as possible and tell them what all happened. Be prepared to spend some major bucks on repairs or buy another car.

It sounds serious--have a mechanic check it over, but I suspect you have a blown gasket, or a cracked block. Check your oil for traces of water--and your water for oil. I once "healed" my cracked block with about half a can of pepper (what you put on food), but I was desperate--and lucky.

You probably scored a cylinder, therefore you may need an engine rebuild

sounds like you've blown a head gasket, you are gonna need more than a band-aid

Buy a new motor because you may have damaged the motor past repairable state

You probably fried the head gasket.
