The only thing he could have done wrong was not gap the plugs correctly.

If you have the wrong plugs or the gap is not set right your car will use more gas. Find out what engine you have in your car, call Auto parts store and get the number of the plugs, or look in your owners manual , also get the gap setting. Low tire pressure will also cause your car to use more gas. Make sure their inflated to the right pressure. With the price of gas going up, every little bit helps. Open the hood of your car when it gets dark, start engine and watch for misfire sparks coming from plug wires. If you have 80 pluss thousand on your car they need changing anyway. Get a factory fit set, the cost a little more, but the fit. Good luck.

Possibly the plug gap is off on one or more of the plugs he put in. Did you change any driving habits or destinations lately? Is the weather colder. It's possible there could be some other factor like maybe a tire with low pressure. Go over the car and see if you can find anything that is different other than the plugs, if not look at the number on the plugs and make sure they are the proper plugs for your car.

Are you getting dark smoke out Ex?
I would be thinking Oxy Sensers.
Spark Plugs, Spark Wires ,He Had to remove Sp. Wire Boot
Could be some Problems.Look at this with Eng running
at operate Temp, dark night raise hood and look closely.
I most always change Spark Plug Wires with Spark Plug change.also use anti seze on plug thread so they don"t lock up.If owener doesn"t want New Spark Plug Wires,I am sure to let Him Know ,There could be a problem. You never stated anything about how this Vehicle Performs,Does it move out, when you get on it or does it have Power Problems?

Could be wrong plugs, wrong gap, not tight enough. But don't go nuts on the tightening. As a last possibility, any chance they put the plug wires on the wrong plugs? Always do them one at a time to eliminate this one.

as others have said he probably did not properly gap them, and a possibility that he put the wires on wrong, but it will be easy to tell if the wires are on wrong because the engine will be running like crap, you should be able to hear this or feel the engine shaking
