Chris Cornell. He started Soundgarden in the eighties in Seattle, and now he's in Audioslave. He was one of the founders of grunge music along with Kurt Cobain.

I think you are talking about Kurt Cobain. He actually grew up in Hoquiam, Washington which is 2 hours away from Seattle.

I think that the Melvin's were from there- weren't they? They were from the Washington area proper- I believe. They actually influenced Nirvana and everyone knows who THEY were. The Melvins have been described as "the hardest rocking grunge band, and the fathers of grunge."

uh... wasn't soundgarden from seattle? so's pearl jam, and alice in chains... so any of the musicians from those bands.
