No you aren't the only one. I've been obsessed with AFI for a very long time. & who cares if your "friends don't like them" You like them right? That's all that matters.
AFI pwns!
and I know 2 other people around here who love them them just like I do. edit: I can't say "just 2" anymore, I've spoken to others who are love them like me too.

Yes, I do.
AFI is just one of the few bands who can reach out and suck people into their music so deeply that you'll find it hard to let go. They generate the energy and passion in all us Fall Children that makes the band AND us unique. AFI was even used to be described all the time as a underground cult band because of this.
You'll never find a better band or fans in the current music scene than AFI.

im right there with you. the first afi song i've ever heard was the boy who destroyed the world perfect song for me at the time and it was glorious. i've been a fan since its been about 8 years now and i've enjoyed every moment of it. i'm a member of the despair faction and i was a fall child when the church of havok was around(the origional that is. i have a growing collection of merchandise over the years as well as 3 tattoos for them and im still going on it. the band is just amazing i think its one of the bands where you can get the most passion out of music they are all wonderful guys and talented musicians they produce sounds ive never heard before and the lyrics are just so thought provoking and open to creativity yes this is one of the many gifts to be blessed.

No, you're definitely not the only one. Us fall children are known for our deep obssession and loyalty to the band. It's not that unusual, as even though I have my other favourite bands, I never feel the same connection and passion to the band and music, as much as I feel with AFI.
Go to the AFI and DF boards to meet the rest of us. Warning: Don't make pointless threads, because we love to bash "grammar nazis" and throwing out the guidelines.
Also check out the 337, Charlotte etc. mysteries. You'll get more obssessed with the band than ever.
If your friends don't like them, then leave them be. Besides, they're the one missing out, not you. Get them to listen to some of your favourite songs. That might hook them.
