i have to write a persuasive essay for my 8th grade class.... it's gotta be about something i know. it has to be controversial but it doesn't havea to be big... some people are writeing about my schools sexist dress code.

How about writing about being a student with too much homework... too many chores ... and never enough time to have fun with your friends... every student can relate to that !!!

FIRST OF ALL, WHAT DO U KNOW? IS THE THING U KNOW ABOUT CONTROVERSIAL? MY ADVICE IS THIS, TRY TO WRITE ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR. THINK OF THE NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE IMPACTS THE WAR HAS ON US. OR TRY SOMETHING SIMILAR TO DRESS CODES LIKE "WHY DO WE HAVE METAL DETECTORS IN OUR SCHOOLS" AND TRY TO PROVIDE THE POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES ABOUT THE IDEA. GIVE THIS A TRY, GOOD LUCK ON THE ESSAY. OH YEA, NEVER LEAVE HOMEWORK FOR THE LAST MINUTE BECAUSE U WILL BE STRESSED LIKE CRAZY TRYIN' TO FIND IDEAS.

What do you wish you school had? YOUR music in the lunchroom? No homework on weekends? Write an essay to convince the school to do something you (and the rest of your friends) have wished for.

Well, if your school doesn't allow gum or cell phones to be on, I'd write about that.
