it is a dell inspirion e1705 if that helps i just got it last semester so it is fairly new

Hi dear,
white line coming on your screen means diods of your monitors are gone you have to changed it them you cant chang it any electrician can do it. please change it as early as possible otherwise your whole monitor will goes off

99% chance that there's a problem with your monitor. There's not a lot you can do to service a monitor, unless it's still under warranty.

Try testing with a different monitor (from a friend) to make sure.

there is the cable
and the inverter
... screen need to be replace

CRT, the big one
tube
video card
tube need to be replace

do you replace the part, if not under warranty no, ...

if your seakers are set to close to your monitor the
magnetic feild could cause this. try moving them.
