I just installed a new cd-rom drive for a computer I am putting together and I can't install Windows XP because during the boot sequence the drive will not run the cd.
(Yes the bios is set to boot from cd-rom first)

you may want to use a cd-rom u know will boot the disk 1st. One reason your new drive isnt working is there may be a confrontation whith another device on that cord to the motherboard and you may want to switch it to a cord with a older devicefor example a 10 gig drive or somthing small.

good luck

When u boot ur computer... enter in to BIOS and select the primary drive to be the CD_ROM . Save, then start the computer again.
