Macs are not hard to get used to. I was a sad helpless PC user 5 months ago and switched to Mac. I had know absolutely nothing about OS X or any OS. I have the exact same computer above. Mac is wonderful and you will have no regrets. Everything that you need is right out of the box, and the only software I've had to install is Google Earth and AIM. Trust me, if your thinking about Vista, its really OS X copy overed. Switch and free yourself from the microsoft cult of terrible virus prone crashing computers

Pros of a Mac- No virus, Unix based, great for music and movies, built for iPod, built in iSight, also Mac OS X
Cons- Not that many games
Pros of a PC- More software/games
Cons- Virus, Windows OS, every pc is the same, all software work on it.
Do not get a Dell. You will regret it.
Also that Dell tech post was used somewhere else. If windows vista is so advance why did it take them so long to make gadgets. OSX pwns Windows. You are so ignorant and pathetic. Dell will never beat Mac. Dell runs windows and windows software. A e-machine can do better. The Dell badge is also a symbol of the worlds most craped out computers.

Mac and PC

Mac computers are known as the best security computer. They're no known viruses for Mac OS today, but there is a fact to that, though.... Please note that only 10% of the world use Mac, while 90% use PC.... This is plain logical; the higher the percentage is, the more attractive it is. My point is: Mac is not vulnerable to viruses because they're only 10% popular compared to PC's 90%..... Please also note that viruses are made by hackers and computer geek... My point again is, of course, it makes no sense to write viruses for Mac computers because it is a waste of time infecting only 10%, whereas you could spend that valuable time to infect 90%... Note that the reason people write viruses is to become rich, like stealing people's credit card and other sensitive information... In plain words, would you rob 10% of Mac users than 90% of PC users? That's my point right there.

Mac is more expensive because Mac parts are NOT from third party distributors. Mac parts are made by ONLY apple.

Another reason Mac computers are more expensive is because ONLY Mac softwares can be used on a Mac.

Let me simplify this down for you:

1 Mac is not vulnerable to viruses because people rarely buy Mac computers.

2 PC is very vulnerable to viruses because PC gets more attention.

3 There is nothing a Mac can do that a PC cannot do.

4 There is a lot of things a PC can do that a Mac cannot do.

5 PC is not limited to softwares.

6 Mac is very limited to softwares.

7 Mac makes lightweight computers better than PC

8 PC is faster than a Mac because PCs are known as entertainment computers.

9 Mac is limited to upgrade

10 PC is NOT limited to upgrade.

11 Mac is limited to games

12 PC is NOT limited to games

13 Mac now uses two OS's at once, Mac OSx, and windows, and that is because Mac seeking more attention by adding windows OS to their Mac's

14 PC doesn't need to use Mac OS, because Windows simply don't. Unlike Mac.

Many people argue that Mac has a better GPU than PC. Note that GPU means ( Graphic Card)... Mac does not have a better GPU over a PC because, once again, Mac is limited to games, while a PC needs the best GPU to play games.

The only advantage Mac has over a PC is security, like not vulnerable to viruses... But if you use a subscribed Anti Virus software on your PC, you will NOT get a virus, unless you foolishly download free softwares off the Internet.

Please also note that MAC is very good for people who aren't educated about computer technologies. Mac protects you from all harm. It is a different story with PC... PC depends on you to protect it... That's why it is recommended for computer literates to use PCs.

Anyway, MAC VS DELL.... I would choose a Dell because Dell uses windows, the MOST advanced OS, while Mac uses Mac OS X...

Note that you can get a Mac for the highest price $4000, and you can get a Dell as its highest price $5000

If you are ONLY concerned about viruses, then choose a Mac so it protects you. But if you want to exceed your enjoyment and get the MOST entertainment, get a DELL

Dell's most superior computers can be seen at these links.

More people are switching over to the MAC than ever before because it is a better OS, more stable, powerful, faster, and safer than Windows. How much time have you spent troubleshooting your PC? Imagine a computer designed by people who hate to waste time as much as you do. Where all the hardware and software just works, and works well together. Get a Mac and get your life backThe hardware is essentially similar as they use mainly the same vendors, but it is the software that drives the hardware and THAT makes ALL the difference in the world!

Why switch?
1. No upgrade nightmares.
Before you can even think about Vista, you’ll likely need a new PC. Or upgrades for memory, hard disk, and graphics card. Why go through all that hassle, when you can just get a Mac? Intel Core 2 Duo processors are fast. As in really fast. But unlike any PC powered by Intel, the Mac runs Mac OS X — which is optimized to squeeze every bit of performance out of Intel’s engines

2. You can even run Windows.
The Mac gives you choices. With the latest software options, an Intel-powered Mac can easily run Vista or Windows XP applications. Not that you’ll want to...

3. It’s simpler.
No need to choose from the many (and expensive) flavors of Vista. Every Mac runs the same Mac OS X — with the full set of industry-leading features.

4. You don’t have to buy new stuff.
Your existing printer, camera, keyboard, and mouse will work with a Mac. PCs and Macs can usually share peripherals if they connect via USB, FireWire, or Bluetooth, three industry standards available on every Mac.

5. Know iTunes? You know Mac.
You’ll recognize features like the library collection, playlist arrangement, and instant search in many Mac applications. So you’re something of a Mac expert already.

6. Macs run Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Office for Mac OS X gives you Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, all with familiar features and shortcut commands. For collaborative work, Office for Mac connects to Microsoft Exchange servers.

7. You can take it with you.
Most popular applications for Mac and PC use the same file formats, making it simple to exchange documents with friends and coworkers or move existing files from a PC to a Mac.

well, if all you know about computer is based on a PC, it will be very hard to adapt to a Mac, but if you are up to the challenge, I would completely recomend the Mac. I have a PC and I don't like it, it gets viruses and always has to be scanned, where Macs aren't able to get viruses.
