St Petersburg, Russia was named in honor of THE Saint Peter (once desciple of Jesus) the SAME as St Petersburg, Florida not AFTER the city in Florida !!
When the city was named this--- Russia had a Christian Czar and was a bastion of religious faith from border to border---as a matter of fact the Greek Orthodox Church within Russia actually survived the onslaught OF communism for the entire reign OF communism and is still in full operation within Russia this very day !!!
