1. Take some walks for the amount of time you can handle walking - it's not going to bring labor on excatly, but it may help the baby settle into the pelvis (drop) which can help out a LOT.
2. Have sex. Same reasons as you read below... the POSSIBILITY of the prostaglandins from semen to help ripen the cervix and having an orgasm can release oxytocin which is known to cause contractions. Unfortunatly, the positions available with a BIG LOOMING belly don't often allow for penetration right to the cervix (not to mention it can be uncomfortable for mom... and if you've already started to dialate the doctor my NIX sex!). Also... you've got to actually HAVE an orgasm in order to hope that the oxytocin gets released. Easier said than done sometimes with that big ole belly. And then again... you're likley to get some MILD contractions from it... not necessarily enough to send you into labor unless your body is really ready. (Nipple stimulation is often suggested also... note that all this does is possibly release oxytocin like an orgasm might... more likely you're going to just end up with some sore nipples for your baby to breastfeed on when she DOES finally get here!).
However remember your body will go when it is ready, if you press it to soon you will have a hard long labor. Even with induction.

I would not take any kind of home remedy or any of that to start labor. It can be dangerous. Best to let nature take it's course. If you are at a point where it's dangerous for you or the baby, then the Dr. will induce you, in the hospital where you can be constantly monitored. Good Luck.

I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but nothing really works. Unfortunately, the Dr's are right. You can walk and have sex, but then you'll just be 38 wks pregant and tired from walking and having sex. Don't bother with any of it. Spend your time resting instead, you won't be getting much soon!

I ate ham and pinapple pizza at 6 pm at 9 pm my waters broke and at 10:45am my daughter was born
Interestingly enough i was only 37.5 weeks and wasnt trying to induce labour
The other one to try is intercourse as semen contains petosin which is used to induce labour in hospitals anyway i cant think of a more fun to start off my self!!

Almost all self induction methods have been debunked.
You still have a couple of weeks to go. it is not that long of a wait. Let the baby come naturally.

wow, you only have a few weeks left, why push it. but try walking on the beach bear footed. your feet have pressure points and the sand moves to each part of your foot hitting each pressure point. also sex, but be careful. hope all goes well.
