I have this sort of prehistoric attitude, I think an Attorney General should be knowledgeable and protective of the Constitution and not subvert that document so his boss can do what he want to whether its constitutional or not. I think when push comes to shove over executive privilege over Average Joe privilege, Joe should win.

The left would love to deny the President his most loyal and able assistants. Especially when replacing them would require Senate confirmation.
If you ask me, the NY Times is more of a Failed Newspaper than Gonzales is a Failed Attorney General!

Dont know much about it or Senor, Gonzales but I do not like him! Yes , is good to hear a Spanish name in so an important role , but Gonzales was there for mr. Bush not as an attorney General, too bad he carries my last name!

Failed....typical understatment. Failed would mean he tried. But he did not do anything except what he was told, we might as well of had Cheney as Attorney General. They have been dismissed by the people for a while now. Except the talk radio crowd who post here.

Is it the NY Times? Or is it an opinion of one writer? There is a difference.
