Just realised that I added and extra 'would' at the end of the setence.

*** Why would a teen mom's boyfriend leave her and the baby?

She probably didn't find a decent guy to begin with. A lot of times you can tell the type of father or husband your boyfriend will be 10 years down the road if you know how to "read," them. That's not always possible but most times, it is. To answer your question, there are numerous reasons why he would leave. I also think he should help take care of the baby by paying child support if he no longer wants to be with the child's mother.

Everyone will tell you he should help raise it. People will even yell at you if you decide to exclude him from the child' life. Guys who walk out on their pregnant girlfriends are worthless, honestly. There isn't a better way to define irresponsibl or selfish. It's immature, they don't realize that walking away from a responsibility doesn't make it go away. It kinda pisses me off to even hear about it, you really do have to wonder what the hell is going in in their ****** up heads. That's why a wonderful thing called child support was invented, when men think they can walk away from their responsibility and get away with it, the justice system goes after them and forces them to pay for making a baby and not wanting to take care of it. Don't feel bad aboout it either, If he's out there eating, and sleeping comfortably than his child should be too so get every dime.

Yes that should be the case, But unfortunatly, all these young guys that love to have sex doesn't want to have to deal with the responsibility of a kid that they made. They are almost like a sperm doner and that is it. Guys young and old are so imature. It is not fair. But that is what the child support office is for. And if he decides to leave his girlfriend and child then he wasn't worth it to begin with. He is what you call a dead beat dad.

I think that teenaged boys are much smarter than teenaged girls...they know that minor children should not be raising minor children.

How would you feel if you were 16--not even done high school...you work at McDonalds for minimum wage--and you know that half your salary is going to go to another person FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE when you probably won't even be on speaking terms with the gf in a year from now?

I'm a mom of two, married to a terrific guy and I know how hard we work to make it work. I know how hard it was to get him through college and university...to say nothing of high school. I know how hard HE works to support us. I know how hard I work to make the home nice and raise the kids.

I am a photographer and take lots of pictures of one-parent families. It makes me so sad and I feel so sorry for these kids....they are much more likely to end up living in poverty, using drugs, illiterate, in jail, pregnant young, in the principal's office due to discipline problems, in the psych ward due to depression, or dead of suicide.

You are 12? Graduate, go to college, get married and then get pregnant. In that order. Your future children will thank you.

While it is true, that because he helped make it, he should take responsibility, that doesn't mean he will. He may be scared, or he may not really love the girl, and just wanted sex. What about the boys parents? Maybe they feel he's throwing his life away? It may not be right, but it happens. What about the new mom's responsibility? Why didn't she just keep her pants up?

Yes I do. However most guys think that since they don't have to carry a kid for 9 months that they have no obligation to help take care of the baby.
