They're still making homophobic movies for the same reason they're still making misogynistic and racist movies - they're appealing to the lowest common denominator in the public to sell more tickets. It's funny how all the right-wingers complain about how liberal Hollywood is, but Hollywood churns out crap like this on a regular basis because what matters the most is the bottom line.

There were a lot of jokes centered around the fact that none of the characters were gay, but it didn't strike me as homophobic. I actually thought it was pretty funny. I don't want this to sound rude, or like I'm cutting you down, but I think that if people always make a huge deal out of every single thing that could possibly be perceived as negative, then when the time comes to stand up for something truly important you won't be taken seriously. It was a fun movie, and should just be looked at as such. It's no different then when homosexual characters in television or movies make a huge deal about how they would NEVER have heterosexual relations. It's just a joke.

Haven't heard of that one, but on the bright side, it brings the problems to the surface for discussion. (It's a small bright side, but ya gotta try.) Outrage will only raise your blood pressure, which would be a victory to homophobes, so try to calm down and find ways to combat these things without taking them personally. I know it's hard. Good luck.

I missed the homophobic part of Wild Hogs and I am definitely lesbian. What part exactly?? I thought it was a funny movie.

Sorry hon, but homosexaulity still makes some people uncomfartable, so they use humour to deal with it. In a way it is a good thing, the more we laugh at it the more we get used to the idea. Try not too take it too seriously, movies make fun of everything from race, religon to sexuality.

There's a line between homophobia and humour, and Wild Hogs is definately on the side of the latter. It may not be funny, but it's not hateful.

If I watched Wild Hogs, the only thing that would outrage me would be that I watched Wild Hogs.

Because people have a right to make any movie that they want to. Lighten up a little, some people (not me) think the same about Brokeback Mountain.
