I want to upgrade to be able to run things that I can't run now. Like a faster version of Verizon Fios. I have 320 mb RAM, 466 mhz processor, about 3 gb on my c drive (I can always get rid of some stuff and make it 5 gb) I've had this computer since about 2000. I'd like to keep it. I am new at upgrading (obviously). The last time I was going to upgrade on this pc I bought a laptop instead.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks!

well, as XP requires 233 MHz and 128 MB of memory, your computer should be fast enough
i would recommend just getting a new, low-end computer with XP tho
this is basically what i did (Pentium II 350 MHz to an AMD Duron 1.3 GHz)
it doesnt have to be much, but 400MHz wont cut it for much longer

your computer will handle windows 2000 no problem at all but if I were you I'd thing about XP instead, I'd fit a new hard drive and use the old one as a slave
