He will eat cookies, crackers, and thing like that. But if you give him noodles, fruit, meat, or anything like that he will only play with it. I know he needs to be eating solids, but I just can't get him interested. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Mine would not feed herself much at first. I would have her sit in her high chair when we were eating dinner, and offer her what we were having. I would put a little on her high chair try and let her play with it, while I fed her small soft bites of the same food. She ate pretty well. After a few days/weeks of this, I would put more on her tray and feed her from that. Eventually she started picking up things and eating them herself. Seeing mommy and daddy eat things makes her want them. I made some variations as needed, but she eats basically the same things we do.
Also, she loves different tastes. I put ketchup on her Gerber Meatsticks or a tiny dab of mild BBQ sauce on her mashed up chicken. She liked the new flavors better than just the plain ones.
Good luck!

Just let him sit in your lap and eat off your plate, this will help in two ways 1) Kids like to steal/share 2) you won't know exactly how much he is eating and it takes the pressure off. If he can eat crackers and cookies he is just not accepting change.

Also, if you have more kids can I suggest that you don't offer baby food next time, as to avoid this problem and because baby-led introduction to solids is safer and healthier:

We had the best luck by running the 'big boy food' through a blender until the 'little boy' got a taste for it. You can put it all in together, if you want, he won't care. Good luck, Little people are always a miracle, even when they put mashed potatoes in their hair!

my son always loved solids but if he doesn;t feel like eating i trick him hes really into to letters right now so i feed him alphaet soup and if it s a letter he likes he'll eat it but you can play games like line up some cherios on the couch and eat them like a little fish you first lol like get down on your knees and gobble sound effects and all of the couch with your mouth or other silly little things put a few in his hand and do the same thing then put somein your hand and tease him a bit put them in front of him and take them away then after a while you can do it with cheese or sumthing or get gold fish crackers and make them swim into his mouth maybe your first and make the little voices "no please help me" chomp chomp chomp

It's not up to him to be interested. It's up to you to feed him. Put it in his mouth, and if he spits it back out, pinch his nose firmly. Then try again. That is what I would do. I do think that giving him these foods coursely pureed and with a spoon would be ok for alittle longer while you GET HIM INTERESTED with some treats. Something yummy that you can live with health wise.

Offer him a chocolate-dipped drumstick.

It may be messy, but he'll like it.
