Working for the FBI is a great paying job. The median is around $65,000 a yr. When you get to the senior level, you make around $120,000 a yr. I know this because my buddy is one; he's 43 now. It's a very hard profession to get into. You need at least an undergrad degree (4yr). Although they don't require a specific major, they do like business majors w/ a concentration in accounting. They also like foreign languages, specifically middle eastern in case you haven't been watching the news. You must also meet certain physical requirements like being able to run a set distance in limited time. You have to be in great shape. You also have to have 20/20 vision. I know this because I couldn't get in for this reason. I can bench 280lbs but can't see out of one eye :( They are very strict about previous history. This means they do a background check. Basically, go to college, do well, stay in great shape, learn about different cultures, and keep your nose out of trouble! Once you're in; you're in for life. You can switch around if you want. My friend was a federal marshal before becoming FBI. You switch between the different agencies w/out too much trouble. Last thing, you must get in before 30 yrs. This info should help w/ half your question. No; it's not easy getting into the FBI. They want great people.
