My best friend of eight years and I are the closest friends you'll ever know but we live in different states. I moved away in 2003. But we still email each other and stuff. But, from this separation, I'm begining to feel like I'm falling for him. He always sends me gifts on holidays and he understands me better than anyone. One day I told him that I was going to marry him one day, and he said that when I do he'll say yes. But I haven't asked him if he likes me yet, should I wait to see what he feels or should I tell him my feelings first?

I think you should hold off, even if it is just for a little while longer. You and your friend may have a great connection, and you wouldn't want to ruin that by scaring him off. Let some time pass, and see if he drops any hints as to if he feels the same way. Have patience. After all, good things come to those who wait.

If you think he feels the same way then go for it and tell him how you feel. You can't hold your feelings in forever and the worst thing that would happen is that he isn't interested in you in that way - but you could still be friends.

Well, his response to your potential proposal :) should tell you all you need to know. No guy would say that if they didn't mean it....they would say damn near anything to change the subject or divert your attention away from it - but I don't believe they would say that. Go see him.....dress hot - throw him a couple signals and see of he starts to stutter.

You should tell him how you feel about him and maybe he feels the same way about you also. Than you should ask him to marry you.
