I would put some serious bleach in the tub and put it through a wash cycle with out any soap. Put the water as hot and on the large load setting and see how that does.

I'm guessing at this but I have 24 years as owner of a cleaning service so it is a pretty good guess-lol> l. check the lint filter on your washer most people don't even realize that there is a lint filter on the washer and it gets clogged and could mildew and smell bad. This is under the lip of your machine so run your hand up under there but watch out there are things that will cut your fingers. 2. It may be that a little water is remaining in the bottom of the machine and is never draining out so it smells. 3. It is possible that you have a small leakand the smell is coming not from the machine but underneath or behind it. That's all I can think of but you could run the machine and dump in vinegar about a quart or so and see if that will clear out the smell. Good luck -k-

First, do you have a front loading high efficiency washer? This problem is common with front loaders. If so, you have to remove the clothes fairly quickly and leave the door ajar when you are done. The gaskets collect the water, so the machine needs to air out. Try using a good bit of vinegar and running a regular cyle. Also, using some vinegar, wipe the gaskets around the door. This should help.

Run a Load of Hot water and add some Pine Sol, and let it go through a Wash Cycle. This should clean the smell out of it. I have the habit of leaving my Lid on my washer up at times. This will allow the drum to air out and dry, and kills those odors.

Pour a quart of white vinegar in and run a cycle empty. Also try leaving the lid open when not in use. Doing that solved the musty smell I had.

When you are not using the washer, leave the lid up(open). You might check the hose to see if it is clogged. All the water may not be draining. Also, check to see if a wash cloth or sock (whatever) fell behind the agitator and you didn't see it fall.

it's probably from the water that sits in the hoses that fills the washer. Maybe you could try taking them off and see if you can run bleach water thru them to clean them out.

Check to see if you have a lint filter on the washer and whether it's full of lint... if you don't, run a mix of bleach and water (lots of bleach) through and see how it goes...
