What exactly is it that you're eating that tastes like plastic?
I would recommend washing whatever it is in a mild dishsoap using very hot water. Then rinse the item and dry with paper towels.

If possible without damaging the "something", wash it with warm soapy water, wipe with a clean cloth dampened with vinegar, let it stand for an hour and then rinse it with clean cold water. Wipe it dry.
