bought refurbished with a fresh XP load - removed the cd and inserted the dell floppy drive module after reading it for what seems like 5 minutes it asks to format it. i don't want to format it, i want to open it with photoshop but it won't let me. can anyone tell me why? i am using a memory card inside a floppy disk adaptor from my Sony Mavica FD-95 digital camera. worked fine on old, old, computer. can anyone help?

yahoo answers is designed to get answers from people who know....i do not know that is why i am asking you. i did not know that you could get a usb card reader yada yada yada...........i was trying to ask for help with my existing equipment if it is available.

Why don't you just buy a proper USB card reader dude instead of screwing around with this bizarre floppy drive nonsense? You can pick them up for only a few dollars or pounds or whatever these days.
Or just plug your digital camera into the PC via the USB socket as that's pretty much what it's designed for.

Just like Bamba said use the proper equipment get a USB card reader or plug your camera into the USB port,, that way you can download the pics.
if u have no usb ports use a friends systems download it and e-mail the pics to ur self
