Excellent system when used properly..Do you understand the meaning of the Capitalist system?
Below is a link you might wish to visit. America became the greatest nation on earth through this system. China did no good till they began partly trading in this type of system. It improved their economy 100%. Even though they are still under communist rule they are adopting capatalist ways.

Great thing

Back in the 20s, the economist Ludwig von Mises debunked Socialism (defined as any government interference in the economy) of all forms. The only people not to get the message were the hack Keynes (the third of 3 economic hacks to become well-known among the majority of the population, the others obviously being plagiarist Adam Smith and pathological liar Karl Marx), and just about everybody else in this society. Mises not only mentioned the well-known and obvious incentive problem of Socialism (which could theoretically be overcome), but he discovered the calculation problem. Without a price system, Socialism cannot make economic calculations. This is why the Soviet economy was filled with waste (think pork barrel politics on steroids). They would ship a part from the other side of the country which they made next door. Their disaster planning was responsible for the Chernoybl meltdown which nuked much of Europe (FEMA has copied Soviet-style planning to predictably disastrous results; ask any Katrina victim defrauded out of the entitlements intended for them by hustlers trying to buy Saints tickets or a dinner at Hooters).

Capitalism is responsible for all the great achievements of the last few centuries, though governmental and union parasites take credit for what Capitalism has done (what do you expect a bureaucrat trying to hide that he can't recognize rats, as the New York City Health Department cannot, to do?). Contrary to self-serving statist myth, Capitalism has achieved everything it has in spite of the government, unions, and other organizations efforts to the contrary.

Pure, unregulated Capitialism?? No, I do not think it is a good thing. I think it equals greed, which is not such a great thing. I think Capitalism works best when it is carefully regulated so that it does not come into conflict with the needs and greater good of society. Unregulated Capitalism has been proven time and time again, in this country and others to lead to filthy air, unsafe water, horrible abuse of child labor and extreme discrepency between the haves and have nots.

Anything taken to the extreme is a bad thing. It could be bad for an individual, or bad for a community, or even, in the case of EXXON, bad for the country. Setting limits on capitalism would help the country, but would hurt capitalism. How to answer this question. I think it is a good thing gone wrong by greed.

Yes..

It gives people a reason to work.. the more you work, the more money you make... the more money you make (and the less it goes to the government) the more it is spent on the economy...

then the more money made makes the companies want to invest more into new jobs... its an endless cycle!!!

the problem with socialism and communisim is that while they have a good purpose... no one is going to want to work because less is being kept for them... although the idea in communism is that people are supposed to work for the good of everyone.. in the end that is a utopia.. humanity is a selfish race..

Mostly a good thing. Gets to be a bad thing when access to natural resources start to be considered tradable products, as is the case in most capitalist countries.

It is like any political system. It has its flaws but capitalism has something that all the others don't. An oppurtunity for freedom

Of course it is. It is simply the instantiation of private property rights, and the right to trade. Remember, trade creates value. (Marx blew this one, big time.)
