Last year, Eddie Cheever entered several races and made a joke of himself...

AGREE/DISAGREE? Why? WIll he be back for more?

I'm not talking about Cheever's TEAM, I'm talking about CHEEVER HIMSELF. Like he did last year, when he made an a$# of himself.

Cheever is a stone cold wanker and a first-class retard, and has been since day one. That he got his name on the Borg-Warner trophy against a field full of dentists and feeder series washouts might be the biggest crime in the history of motorsport.

"Then again he might be able to show the kids a thing or two on the road courses the IRL is going to run this year."

Huh? Are you actually *serious*? This guy ran 53 road races in his entire CART career and managed a whopping 3 podiums in the bunch -- all 3 of those races he was a lap down to 1st and 2nd place. He's got nothing to teach anybody on a road course short of how to drive while oblivious to your surroundings, which most of those guys don't need any help with anyway.

Experienced? Sure. Skilled? Not so much.

I dont know does his race team even still exist is the question I would have to ask, I know it does. I wont say that he is going to come back and make a joke of himself, I think he is going to focus on being an owner more and possible run in some of the other series that he is part of. Maybe he will run in the Pro Series instead. I think the guy has talent but with the limited amount of races that he has run in the past 5 years its hard to get in the saddle and achieve the same success you had in the past. If he wants to drive full time, and that is all he is devoted too then I think he could come in and be a top ten driver, if he is going to cherry pick the races he runs then he will be a laughingstock of the IRL world. Then again he might be able to show the kids a thing or two on the road courses the IRL is going to run this year.

edit- Edward S Cheever might be able to teach the kids a thing about racing road courses is a true statement. You can count his cart races and then add them to his F1 races which puts him at over 200 road races. Amazingly the guy did enjoy moderate success in F1 for a couple of seasons. If he lived up to expectations or compares to a champion in F1 he does not, the cold reality of it is he is one of a dying breed in the IRL someone who has competed on road courses for most of his carrerr. In my opinion that makes him one of the more experienced road racers in the IRL.

Cheever Racing intends to race at least a limited schedule with Cheever's nephew Richard Antinucci driving at St. Petersburg, Watkins-Glen, Indy, and Mid-Ohio. If he can afford it, I wouldn't be surprised to see Christian Fittipaldi drive a Cheever car in IRL (or CART). Whether Eddie jams his own carcass in the cockpit to race remains to be seen, but I would bet he'll at least try to qualify a few cars at Indy.

I don't think that Cheever has the money or reputation required to be a front running outfit. He can't get the big name sponsors, unless it's spill-over from Grand-Am racing, and without them, I don't think he'll have a chance (even with Fittipaldi).
